Environment

Santex Rimar Group machinery gives fabric a special touch – just right for each application and loved by users. Finishing machinery can make a big difference – and machines with a Santex or Sperotto Rimar brand certainly do that. They are kind to the fabric – as well as to the environment. Today, ecological requirements are rightly regarded as essential as any finishing effect.

Santex Rimar Group optimizes and changes processes specifically to eliminate, or at least minimize, chemicals which may have a negative impact on the environment. Clearly-defined goals require major steps towards environmentally-friendly textile finishing.

Achievements are widely reported in finishing as well as in technical textiles – and not to forget the green technology solution which was awarded.

FINISHING - SPEROTTO RIMAR

NOVA

NOVA is a continuous de-oiling and scouring machine for textile finishing. It’s the ideal solution to get rid of oils and silicones contained in synthetic fabrics at loom state. Remaining oils inside synthetic fabrics are reduced to 0.2% or less, from starting values of 2.5 to 3%.

The processes of sourcing, drying, cooling, deodorizing and solvent recovery ensure that NOVA operates in a closed loop system. This means that there is no air exhaust to the external environment. The process is in compliance with the stringent environmental regulations all over the world.

Facts & Figures:

  • Negligible environmental impact
  • No use of auxiliary chemicals or detergents. The only chemical product used in the machine is recovered to a percentage very near to 100%.

COMPAS

The COMPAS compacting concept is based on a revolutionary system that exploits the use of a special belt with specific elasticity values. Excellent shrinkage results are possible for a wide range of fabric types and, in case of specific fabrics without the use of hazardous chemicals.

For example, a ’natural’ stretch effect on the warp side of 100% wool worsted fabrics used to be achieved by a combination of special processes and the simultaneous use of specific chemicals. COMPAS is the only machine capable of providing the ideal stretch effect on that kind of worsted fabric – without the use of chemicals or elastomeric yarn – simply by compacting (the same process as used with other fabric types).

Facts & Figures:

  • Shrinking with natural stretch performance without the use of hazardous substances or elastomeric yarns

GREEN TECHNOLOGY – DRYWA

DRYWA

DRYWA stands for an innovative integrated system for drying sewage sludge. DRYWA technology is developed to make sludge management efficient and cost-effective, respecting the environment and climate.

DRYWA is 100% green and eco-friendly, with lowest energy consumption. Its sludge dryer is the only low-temperature belt dryer equipped with a CO2 heat pump.

Sewage sludge and sludge from ETP (particularly from dyeing companies) are perfectly treated by DRYWA without odours and air emissions, and even without filters.

Facts & Figures:

  • Thermal stand-alone system achieves 75% of weight reduction in only 15 m² surface (20 ft shipping container).
  • Dry sludge can be reused in various sectors.
  • The technology has been recognised by the United Nations and European Union as sustainable and social innovation to face the global challenges of the future.

COATING – CAVITEC

CAVIMELT PRO

CAVIMELT PRO is a multi-functional coating machine based on hotmelt technology. The technology responds to the needs of latest fabric developments for textile lamination, as well as nonwovens – and for environmentally-friendly production.

The hotmelt process is the sustainable alternative to flame bonding for foam applications. Flame bonding causes serious air pollution and requires special air filtration in order to be compliant with environmental regulations. Coating with hotmelt, on the contrary, releases almost no emissions.

By the way: this sustainable technology helps to preserve the environment, as no water or solvent-based adhesives are needed. Furthermore, it saves significant amounts of energy, as no drying process is necessary.

Facts & Figures:

  • Emission-free hotmelt technology
  • Free of solvent and water
