FINISHING – SANTEX

SANTAFRAME

SANTAFRAME is a high-performance stenter offering high-quality processing for knitted and woven fabrics. Energy-saving options enable customers to achieve sustainable production with low CO2 values. Significantly low energy consumption is achieved by using the novel air-flow technique and the AERO-SURF nozzle system.

Conventional energy-saving units use hot exhaust air to preheat the incoming fresh air via external heat exchangers. With the Santex Energy Saving Chamber (ESC) the hot exhaust air is used directly to preheat the incoming moist fabric. The efficient use of energy is ensured by the air exchange in the ESC. The effectiveness of the ESC is proved by the reduced exhaust air temperatures at the exit.

Installing Santex ESC ahead of SANTAFRAME heating chambers results in energy savings of up to 25% when optimally utilizing the residual heat of the exhaust air, which is fed into the Energy Saving Chamber, the fabric is preheated without additional installed heating power.

Facts & Figures:

  • ESC using hot exhaust air for preheating
  • Energy savings up to 25%

SANTASHRINK

SANTASHRINK is used for shrinkage, relaxation and tensionless drying of tubular or open-width knitted fabrics. Adding the Energy Saving Chamber (ESC) or ENAIRSAVE to the drying process results in a significant boost in energy savings. SANTASHRINK is the most optimized drying process for sustainable textile finishing.

The ESC reuses energy directly, while ENAIRSAVE provides indirect reuse. Both heat recovery systems have clear advantages. By optimally utilizing the residual heat of the exhaust air, which is fed into the Energy Saving Chamber, the fabric is preheated without additional installed heating power, which results in energy savings of up to 25%.

The ENAIRSAVE heat recovery unit is installed on the dryer exhaust duct. The system is based on an air-to-air heat exchanger. It consists of a rotating heat-absorbing part. The rotating system, which is divided into two sections, is heated by the exhaust air from the dryer and it preheats incoming fresh air that returns to the dryer. In this way, the energy consumption of the dryer is reduced by 20%.

Facts & Figures:

  • Direct and indirect use of exhaust air
  • ESC allows preheating of fabrics without additional installed heating power
  • ENAIRSAVE reduces energy consumption of the dryer by 20%

SANTACOMPACT RD and SANTASYNPACT

SANTACOMPACT RD and SANTASYNPACT are levelling, steaming and compacting calenders with extremely gentle fabric handling.

The open-width compactor SANTACOMPACT RD and sanforizer SANTASYNPACT feature a high-performance V-steaming box, which is connected to the guide rail to avoid steam distribution outside the fabric web. This results in a far more controlled process and a 50% reduction in energy compared to conventional steam tables. Furthermore, the V-shaped steam box adapts to the different fabric widths.

Facts & Figures:

  • The V-shaped steaming box adapts to the chain width and decreases steam consumption
  • More efficient and less energy demanding solution
  • 50% less energy used compared to conventional steam tables

FINISHING - SPEROTTO RIMAR

COMPAS

Sperotto Rimar always chooses machine components from latest-generation technology, aiming to save as much energy as possible. COMPAS compacting machines use motors of the IE3 type.

Induction motors are classified on the basis of their efficiency levels. The IE3 motors lie in the class of international efficiency standards which denotes premium efficiency.

UNIVERSA

UNIVERSA is the steaming and relaxing machine for almost all kinds of textiles, offering excellent levels of stabilization and swelling. The machine was designed to reduce steam consumption to the lowest possible level (200 kg/hour) by means of special panels which almost completely close the steaming tunnel of the machine thus reducing the steam escape during the process.

Facts & Figures:

  • Very low steam consumption

NOVA

NOVA is a continuous de-oiling and scouring machine. It’s the ideal solution for a wide variety of fabric types, particularly synthetic ones, woven or knitted.

NOVA requires one-tenth of the energy in the drying process, compared to water impregnated fabrics, thanks to physical characteristics of the only chemical used during the process which is also almost fully recoverable.

The energy saving continues in the following process (heat-setting) as the fabric is already dry after the Nova machine.

Facts & Figures:

  • Negligible environmental impact
  • High energy saving during the drying process

WEAVING – SMIT

GS980F

SMIT GS980F uses the unique free-flight ribbon system of weft insertion, offering speed combined with efficiency and technical details for unmatched energy efficiency.

GS980F comes with ACIMIT Green Label certification for energy and environmentally optimized performance. This official certification proves the emission levels. The quantity of equivalent emissions of carbon dioxide (Carbon Footprint, CFP) produced during machine operation is the parameter which provides an environmental efficiency rating with which the machinery is labelled.

SMIT is a textile machinery manufacturer registered as ‘Supplier of Sustainable Technologies’.

Facts & Figures:

  • Direct drive for reduced air conditioning load and low energy consumption
  • Energy efficient power transmission ensures highest regularity at lowest energy consumption

2FAST

2FAST is a high-speed weaving machine based on Flexible Advanced Shuttleless Technology. The machine incorporates convincing innovations for green performance.

Checking all critical processes for energy consumption, SMIT engineers found a way to eliminate auxiliary cooling systems, developing a high-efficiency brushless motor with permanent magnets, for lowest heat generation with highest power. A further sustainability benefit comes with the new short mechanical transmission for highest regularity while guaranteeing lowest energy consumption.

Facts & Figures:

  • 2SAVE as new feature available with 2FAST
  • 2FAST earned the ACIMIT Green Label for machines developed with the methodology of ‘Product Design for the Environment’

COATING – CAVITEC

CAVIMELT PRO

CAVIMELT PRO embodies bi-functional coating based on hotmelt adhesive application. One big advantage of the hotmelt technology is that there is no drying needed. Drying requires much more energy than melting, which makes CAVIMELT PRO a real energy saver.

Facts & Figures:

  • The new technology needs no water or solvent-based adhesives
